Millennium installation

Your computer must have a 15 pin game port and Windows 95.

  1. Plug the Millennium's connector into the game port.

    • Need to power down? It's good practice to shut off your computer's power before plugging in a peripheral. This is especially advisable if a connector is hard to reach or if many cables are attached to your computer. Power down your system, plug in the Millennium, and make sure all other connectors are secure before powering your system back up.

    • Have a network card installed in your computer? Some network cards use a 15 pin connector that looks like the game port. If you have one of these cards, protect your equipment by plugging the Millennium only into the game port and not the network card connector.

  2. Put the Millennium installation CD into your system's CD ROM drive.

  3. If your system is set up to automatically read a newly inserted CD, the opening screen for installation will appear.

  4. If your system doesn't launch the installation software automatically, double-click on the My Computer icon, and then double-click on the CD ROM drive icon to launch the installer.

  5. The Choose Installation window appears showing the list of available software.

If this is the first installation from this CD, choose the ThrustMaster software from the list and click on OK (or Exit to quit the installation). If a previous version of the ThrustMaster software is detected you will be given the choice to Update the software or Cancel.

If you are installing a game, select the game software from the list and click on OK. Control of the installation process will now pass to the game's installer.

Note: The installation software installs only one software package each time it is run.

The remaining steps apply only to installation of ThrustMaster's software.

  6. The Main Setup Panel appears. Click on Next to proceed to the next step, or Cancel to halt the installation process.

  7. The default destination directory is displayed in the next screen. Use the Browse button to change the destination directory, if needed. Click on Next to proceed to the next step.

  8. Installation now takes place. When installation ends, a dialog box appears asking if you wish to start the Activator. Click on Yes. Activator panel

  9. You can test all the controls on your Millennium with the Activator. Each position control (axis) has an animated display to show control movement, and each button lights up when pressed. Click on the Activate button to make the Millennium the current joystick selection under Windows 95.

You do not need to set up the Millennium with the Windows joystick control panel; clicking on Activate in the Activator does this work for you.

  10. To use the newly installed ThrustMaster software, you must reboot your computer. A dialog box is displayed and asks if you wish to do this.

  11. If you wish to install any bundled software that came with your Millennium, repeat steps 4 - 6.
